New factory construction, Kaco New Energy, Neckarsulm

Kaco New Energy GmbH has its headquarters in Neckarsulm, Germany and specializes in converters of all types. By far, the largest percentage of turnover is related to photovoltaic inverters and system monitoring accessories. For this reason, the company had considered including a GeneCIS PV system in its facade design so that the planning could be carried out together with the building architects.

The challenge: A facade area of around 1,500 m² is to be covered with a PV system; however, the new architectural language and the prevailing design principles must be kept in mind. In this context, the module frames and rails must be installed in a new color scheme, which has not yet been used.

Highlight:

This unique style – the PV facade blends into the city's structural development – gives rise to an architectural project with contemporary significance.

A modern glass covering was constructed from classic materials, including glass, wood, stone and steel. In this way, Würth Solar helps architectural design return to its real mission:

»Creating structures that exist between technology and science, invention and memory, modernity and tradition.«

System data:

  • Approx. 2,200 GeneCIS solar modules
  • Dimensions: 1,200 x 600 mm
  • Output: 148 kWp
  • Completion: April 2011
